(1909-71)
Israeli linguist. He was born in Topoltshani, Slovakia, and went to Israel in 1941. He taught at the Hebrew University and later at Bar-Ilan University, specializing in Hebrew and Semitic languages. His publications include The Language and Linguistic Background of the Isaiah Scroll, and History of the Hebrew Language.
